Receivables
Remote Deposit Capture allows our customers to create a deposit made up of check images for both consumer and business checks remitted for payment. Utilizing a desk-top scanner, PC and internet connection, deposits can be sent to the bank each business day until 5:00 pm.
All of this is done without going to the bank allowing you to reduce administrative time and expense associated with deposit preparation activities. You can also benefit by setting up multiple locations to deposit into a single account. Just key in the amount for deposit, scan the checks and a balanced deposit will be created. With just a quick - click command you can transmit the balanced deposit to your account. Deposits can be batched several times a day or at the end of your business day, in order to meet the established 5:00 pm deposit deadline.
ACH Payment Origination and Processing*
Automated Clearing House (ACH) Debit Origination through Community & Southern Bank provides flexible options for originating ACH entries. With our expert staff to assist in the implementation and training, we can assist you with both the technical and practical aspects of using the ACH network. Whether you leverage your own in-house accounting software or need to use our online ACH batch capabilities, you may receive some benefits by introducing ACH into your collection strategy including:
- More predictable settlement and cash flow
- Reduced misapplied and late payments
- Increased payer satisfaction by offering another payment option
Line of Credit Sweep* is an end-of-day solution for maximizing cash. Each day your account activity is systematically reviewed to determine if you have funds available to pay down on your line of credit or if you need to draw from the line of credit to cover disbursements eliminating potential overdrafts. This system is designed to maximize your dollars and provide you with complete control over your liquidity.
- Advances and pay-downs are rounded to even $1,000.00 for easy accounting
- Daily Calculation will minimize your interest expense
Payables and Payment initiation
Online Payment Services are originated through Cash Management capabilities for Community & Southern Bank’s Online Banking service. All payment initiations can be set-up in accordance to your individual company requirements, including dollar limits per transaction, per day and the use of dual control.

- ACH Direct Deposit allows you to automatically deposit funds into a consumer’s bank account via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network. Direct deposit can also be used to disburse payroll, employee expense reimbursements, pension or annuity payments and shareholder dividends
- ACH Corporate Payment allows you to establish corporate disbursements & vendor payments. Typically referred to as Business to Business payments, these transactions will allow you offer vendors another choice in how and when payment will be received. ACH is a cost effective way to make vendor payments
- Fed Wire initiation through our online banking service will allow you to create and maintain wire templates to ease your payment processing
Fraud Tools
Fraud detection, prevention and diligence is a necessary exercise for all customers. Warnings about identity theft and tips to protect your personal bank accounts are everywhere. We must apply the same principles for businesses with a focus on protecting their accounts against fraudulent activity. Regardless of size or industry, payment fraud continues to be a major challenge for businesses and banks alike. While the most common type of fraudulent activity statistically is check fraud, Corporate Account take over and fraud via ACH debits have also been used to perpetrate crime.

Positive Pay is a method to reduce check fraud against your business accounts. Positive Pay is delivered through our Community & Southern Bank Online Banking system and works in the following manner:
- The customer uploads to the bank a list of checks (issue items) that they have written
- The bank then compares the issue information against the MICR line information for the check presented for payment
- If a discrepancy is found, the check information and the reason for the discrepancy (exception) are made available for review and the customer makes a same day decision to pay or not pay
ACH Debit Block and Filter options are used to protect your account from un-authorized ACH Debits
- ACH Blocks will not allow any ACH Debits to post against your account
- ACH Filters allow you to provide information to Community & Southern Bank that will filter specific ACH Debits to post against your account
Cash Flow and Information Management
- Zero Balance Account - is a technique which centralizes your funds into a single account giving you more control and full management of your cash. This is a commercial checking account where the balance is brought to zero each day via an automatic transfer to or from a master account. Deposits and disbursements continue to flow through separate accounts for audit and functional purposes while balances are consolidated for maximum efficiency
- Reconciliation Services – traditional account reconciliation services are available through Community & Southern Bank. In addition to traditional account reconciliation services, our Online Banking service allows you to export multiple file formats in order to reconcile bank accounts. Export format options include account activity in Excel®, Quicken® or QuickBooks®
- Online Banking with per user settings allows you to manage all users assigned to Community & Southern Online Banking. This provides total customization of functions, interfaces, account access and payment initiation functions.
